Videos of Pavel Jestřáb (*1979) are basically set to his home region, Moravia, into Moravian landscape, woods, villages. However, he doesn´t accent its beauty or calm poetry, but rather certain isolation, its unknown side from different point of view. The author revises contemporary view on traditional folk culture. He blurrs the borderline between videoart and videoperformance, using long shots, requiring viewer´s attention and concentration – the key breakpoint is just few seconds long or very unobtrusive, almost unnoticeable. Jestřáb focuses on details, which are disturbing, irritating. His videos are are timeless and quiet, the man is working as destructive or disrupting factor, as well as his artefacts.
