Ladislava Gažiová (1981) was born in Slovakia, in Spišská Nová Ves. Her studies were quite varied, if we are talking about persons she met. She began studying art in 2000 in Košice in the studio of Adam Szantpetéry, after two years she moved to the studio of Vladimir Skrepl at the Prague Academy of Art and in 2008 she finished her studies in the studio of Jiří David at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. In the same year she won the Critics Award for Young Painters.Laďa Gažiová is undoubtedly the most interesting painter of her generation. Since she have come to Prague her attitude of painting was profiled in cooperation with the siblings 'tandem' India Twins "- Anežka and Jakub Hoškovi. In the work of Ladislav Gažiová appear elements of street art in the form of spray patterns, conceptual way of thinking, aesthetics American independent music scene and characters and themes from Slovak, Roma or rather rural environment. She actively works with Roma organizations and leads art classes for Roma children.Currently she began to experiment with photograms. Along with the move to other techniques as well as the content of its creation. Photograms, drawings, collages and small interventions in the books are examining the contours and finding the intersection between poetry and subjective concerns about the reflection of diverse and distinct cultures. At the moment of this annotation we do not know what we will see at the gallery Luxfer, but surely we can look forward to another exceptional artist.
