In his photographs, Michal Kalhous (*1967) uses a specific style. The pictures seem to be „amateur“, unsharp, blurred, with „bad light“. His themes are widely common and ordinary. Stories from everyday life, banal at first sight only. He´s amazed by the real life situations and its philosophy. Spontaneity and luck, that´s his artistic motto. In the photographs we can see family still lifes – dirty dishes after dining, empty tables, granny cutting garden roses, smiling. Rural life, children, everyday objets details are the stones in the mosaic of a great puzzle called life.
